Creating An iPhone Homepage Icon For Your Website

iPhone users can create homescreen shortcuts to websites. By default, the icon will look like a miniature version of the website. If you are a website owner and want to create a custom iPhone homescreen icon from an image, then follow these guidelines (per the iPhone OS Reference Library)

• save the image in PNG format
• the PNG should be 57 x 57 pixels, with 90 degree corners (if the image measures other than this size, iPhone OS scales it)
• Does not have shine or gloss
• Does not use an alpha transparency

Save the final PNG file as "apple-touch-icon.png" and upload it to the root of your website.
